LOSP Protection
Woodhouse understands the importance of long-lasting protection for your timber
At Woodhouse Timber, we understand the importance of long-lasting, durable timber. That’s why all our Woodhouse Weatherproof products undergo H3 LOSP (Light Organic Solvent Preservative) treatment to provide exceptional resistance against termite and fungal attacks. This treatment ensures your timber stays strong, stable, and protected for the long term.

How LOSP treatment works
LOSP preservation involves pressure treating the timber with a specialised chemical solution that effectively prevents deterioration caused by insects, fungi, and moisture. This treatment provides:
- Resistance to termites: The permethrin insecticide in the treatment process protects against termite attacks and other wood-boring insects.
- Decay prevention: Azole fungicides work to resist decay, preserving the integrity of the timber for years.
Every piece of Woodhouse Weatherproof timber is labelled with a product tag that identifies the specific LOSP treatment process followed during manufacturing. This labelling ensures full transparency, so you can trust the quality and protection of every piece you use.
Recommendations for maintenance and installation
To maximise the effectiveness of the Weatherproof timber and ensure long-term protection, we recommend resealing all end cuts, notches, rebates, and drill holes with an in-can preservative primer, such as Tanalised Enseal Clear Timber Preservative, before installation. Repriming these areas with a quality timber primer also helps to prevent moisture from entering the timber, ensuring maximum dimensional stabilty in service.
